Exhibit A - LeKal Description A 51 acre tract of land of which approximately 1$,Z acres are located in the NF4 of the SW4; 15,9 acres in the NW;, of the SW4; 1.0 acres in the SE4 of the SW'%; and 15.9 acres in the SW%, of the SW ~, all in Section 31-T23S-R56W of the 6th P.M. in Otero County, Colorado. Exhibit C - Pre-mining and Minim Plan Maps Please see Exhibit C-1, the Pre-mining Map and Exhibit C-2, the A9ining Plan Map submitted with this Application. Exhibit D - Minim Plan This Application incorporates all of the area presently permitted as a Limited Operation, MLRB File ~~79-7 and all of the area included under a Special Operations Permit, MLRB File ;'k M-85-]79. In addition, another area of 31 acres is added to the above permitted areas creating a new Regular Operation application with a combined total of 51 acres. Conversion of the several permitted areas and related release of the posted sureties will be requested simultaneously with completion of the appli- cation process for the enlarged operation. Excluded from this Application is an adjacent 14.5 acre tract that has been permitted by Otero County for a permanent indust- rial site for a concrete and asphalt hot plant. At present the site is used as a stockpile area and blending operation for aggragate materials trucked to the site from Lamar, Colorado and other locations other than tl~e immediately adjacent mining operation. The industrial site will continue to be used in the same manner long after the immediately adjacent resource is exhausted. The industrial site will be fenced separately. The proposed mining activity on the 51 acre tract will generally proceed in the same manner as presently permitted. The initial Limited Operation area has been nearly mined out and will become the first area planned for final grading and reclamation in 1986. A small portion of the area near its west boundary will continue to be used in the conduct of the mining and processing operation. Exhibit C-2, presents a five phased operation with each phase encompassing about 7 to 9 acres. Depending upon the demand for material, it is expected that each phase will be fully mined in two years from the start and late in the second year be graded and prepared for final reclamation. It shall be the goal of the mining plan to limit disturbance to approximately 10 acres at an }' given time.
