the active pit; (3) volume of material to be drilled, shot and moved
during highwall reduction. For the schedule of completion of mining,
angering, backfilling and grading operations, see Tables 12-4 and 1L-5.
As stated on Page 12-51 of Permit C-80-005, box cut spoil will be
graded to blend into existing topography. The placement is needed to
reconstruct the drainage in its approximate original channel and at the
same elevation. Therefore, there is no stockpiled box cut spoil and no
box cut spoil will be hauled to the final pit.
2.05.4
B. Release of Performance Bonds
RESPONSE:
Peabody has chosen to reconsider its approach to bonding and will not
ask for transfer or release of bonds in conjunction with a request for
approval of this permit renewal application. Therefore, no additional
data will be supplied at this time for the purpose of supporting any
phase of bond release. Pages 13-72 through 13-76 are being deleted.
C. General Assumptions
RESPONSE:
• For the purposes of bond calculations, Peabody will adopt the
recommended operating engineers construction workers outlined below:
Dozer Operator - $17.70/hr - add 5.20/hr fur swing and 5.40/hr for
graveyard
Scraper Operator - $17.90/hr - add $.20/hr for swing and $.40/hr for
graveyard
Motor Grader Operator - $17.90/hr - add S.ZO/hr r"or swing and $.40/hr
for graveyard
Drag Line - $18.10/hr - add $.20/Irr for swing and 5.40/hr for graveyard
Water Truck - 516.30/hr - add 5.20/hr for swing and 5.40/frr for
graveyard
In addition, as specified in the C~1LRD permit renewal adequacy
comments, a job efficiency factor of 0.79 is applied to the appropriate
project costs. Mobilization and demobilization costs have been added
to equipment costs utilized for computing the reclamation cast
estimate.
In response to comments found on Page 10, 2.05.4(A), Item =L, Peabody
has calculated the "worst case" condition of four spoil rows behind the
longest active pit which will uccur during this 5 year mine plan
41 Revised 8/27/86
