Seneca II-W until 1987; and second, the coal production through •
C the year 2001 as addressed in the Wolf Creek application is not
supported by the renewal application where production ceases in
1997. Peabody Coal should revise one or both of these documents
so that both are consistent.
RESPONSE:
The descriptions, Mining Operations-Life-of-Mine and Operations-
General are revised to clarify mining areas, production, scheduling,
and maps. These revised descriptions are based upon current
conditions and are reflected on map Exhibit 12-1. The mining plan
shown depicts the 770B dragline completing the Wadge pit and the 6508
completing the Wolf Creek pit.
As the CMLRB is aware, Peabody plans to revise the current mine plan
in the latter part of 1986 to accurately reflect the disposition and
placement of both draglines in both the Seneca II and II-W mine areas.
Upon finalization of these plans by Peabody and acceptance by the coal
supply customer, Peabody will provide the CMLRB an appropriate
revision.
2.05.3 Facilities
1. The legal descriptions included on Page 12-8 of Volume 2 of the
renewal application which indicate the location of the various
C pits at the mine do not appear to be accurate in relation to the •
locations shown on Exhibit 12-1, Operation Plan. Also, any name
and/or number designations for the various pits and work areas at
the mine should be clearly described on the text and referred to
in the same fashion on Exhibit 12-1. It is difficult to
correlate the description of pit development and reclamation for
all pits at the rt~ine as described on the text with the location
and configuration of the pits as shown on Exhibit 12-1. A clear
description of all mining activities scheduled during the next
permit term should be provided, including a schedule for mining
and/or reclamation of the unnamed pit located in the E 1/2, SE
1/4 Sec. 11, the solid waste disposal site and auger area and the
Pit B area as shown on ExYiibit 12-1. This information is
necessary in order to verify the timing and extent of the worst
case disturbance occurring during the second permit term.
RESPONSE:
Appropriate Tab 12 text and maps have been corrected and revised to
provide a clearer description and presentation of the areas mined and
to be mired. Additional Tables 12-4 and 11-5 in Tab 12 should provide
necessary timing information.

U
16 Revised 3/27/86
