Z.05 Operations Plan
6. This renewal application contains 62 pages of revised
information. Considering the extent of revised text, Peabody
Coal should be more specific as to what "The unaffected sections
of Table 12 and associated approved revisions of the current
Seneca II Mine permit are applicable..." as specified in the
"Note" on the Table of Contents page.
RESPONSE:
Updating the operations plan for the permit renewal required
modifications to virtually every section. Responses to comments
required further modifications. Thus, the operations plan can be
considered a completely revised section. The comment on the Table of
Contents page relating tc unaffected sections is no longer applicable
and has been deleted.
2.05 Operations Plan
7. There appears to be a discrepancy with the mining of the Wolf
Creek coal. The renewal application discusses mining of this
area with the 650G dragline to final coal recovery. The Wold
Creek permit revision application, however, specifies that this
area will be mined via the 6506 dragline until this dragline is
. moved to Seneca II-W in 1986 at which time the 7706 would finish
mining this area. Peabody Coal should revise one or both of
these documents so that both are consistent.
RESPONSE:
The descriptions, Mining Operations-Life-of-i4ine and Operations
Description-General are revised to clarify mining areas, production,
scheduling and maps. These revised descriptions are based upon
current conditions and are reflected on map Exhibit 12-1. The mining
plan shown depicts the 7706 dragline completing the Wadge pit and the
6506 completing the Wolf Creek pit.
As the C14LR6 is aware, Peabody plans to revise the current mine plan
in the latter part of 1986 to accurately reflect the disposition and
placement of both draglines in both Seneca II and II-W mine areas.
Upon finalization of these plans by Peabody and acceptance by the coal
supply customer, Peabody will provide the CMLRB an appropriate
revision.
2.05 Operations Plan
8. The Wolf Creek permit revision discusses the effects of opening
the Seneca II-W site in 1986 and the resultant coal production
impacts to Seneca .I I. This discussion raises two issues: first,
based on current discussions, Peabody Goal does not plan to open
15 Revised 8/27/86
