2.06.8 Alluvial Valley Floors •
C 1. Peabody Coal Company should update and amend the Fish Creek
Alluvial Valley Floor discussion in the permit application. The
revised text should include a discussion concerning the elevated
concentrations of dissolved solids measured at Site S',d-S2-6, and
how these elevated concentrations affect the downstream alluvial
system.
RESPONSE:
Information regarding the identification of Alluvial Valley Floors
(AVF) in the vicinity of the Seneca II Hine was provided in Appendix
7-7 of Tab 7, Hydrology, of the original permit application. Based on
this information, Grassy and Little Grassy Creeks and the two unnan+ed
tributaries to Fish Creek (Cow Camp and Bond Creeks) have not been
identified as AVFs. Consequently, no additional information needs to
be provided in this section. However, a discussion concerning the
elevated concentrations of dissolved solids at site SW-S~-6 and how
these elevated concentrations affect the downstream alluvial system is
provided in the newly revised Probable Hydrologic Consequences
section. See Response to Comment 1.

L
u
•
10 Revised 8/27/86
