A. Worst Case Reclamation Costs and Timetable (Before Substitute Water Supply Plan in
Place
This worst case assumes that the fu110.4 acres of wetland shelf will be created since the existing
pond will be mined.
Since the augmentation plan and substitute water supply plan have not yet been obtained at the
time that this application is being filed, the worst case cost for reclamation of the site will occur
when the mine reserves have been fully depleted, and the site needs to be backfilled to a level 2
feet above the expected water swface so that no evaporation occws from the lake. Based on the
expected water level of 5588' and the bottom of excavation at 5575', this means that the fill would
be placed to 5590' or 15' from the bottom. From the Survcadd pit analysis shown in the mining
plan, this corresponds to a volume of 77,000 cubic yards.
Task # Description Time (days) Cost
1 Dewater Phase 1 to allow full reclamation. 4 $5,500
2 After removing all portable facilities, partially 3 $2,204
backfill pit to 2' above the equilibrium water level
using excess overburden in the temporary stock-
pile located in the pit area itself from stripping the
Phase 2 area. 2449 cy @ $0.90 per cy
3 Import remaining backfill (77,000 cy) - 2449 cy = 20 $298,204
74551 cy.
