In addition, these dikes are located on the east side
of the power transmission line and will not be affected by the
mining operation.
3. The existing utility lines are some 40 to 50 feet off the
ground. The only piece of equipment on our list able to hit
these utility lines would be the excavator or the dragline.
By positioning the piece of equipment in relation to the
/ stockpiles and the powerlines and requiring certain equipment
~/ movement, contact with the utility lines will be avoided.
/4. Hased on the survey performed by the licensed land surveyor
and site observation, there are no underground structures or
pipelines on the property.
5. The permit boundary is based on the land ownership by Ed
Perry. Asphalt Paving Co. has leased the entire parcel from
Mr. Perry. In order to avoid additional expenses of surveying
a permit boundary separate from the property line, the
original land survey is being used.
/6. We will provide proposed final contours on the Reclamation
Plan in five foot contour intervals. The revised Reclamation
Plan will be submitted under separate cover.
,Y. It is indeed true that a portion of the stockpiled material
V may need to be re-handled prior to final placement. Our
revised Exhibit C (included under separate cover) locates the
stockpiles and also indicates which stockpiles are for
topsoil. Topsoil stockpiles are located beyond the limits of
mining so they will not be disturbed or re-handled prior to
final reclamation.
~. Our calculations indicate there are approximately 215,000
cubic yards of overburden which will be moved during the
mining operation. Our figure is less than yours because our
revised Mining Plan avoids filling of wetland areas by
reducing the area of disturbance. Since the property will be
mined at 3:1 side slopes, no backfilling is necessary.
