Box 338 <br />Walden, Colorado 80480 <br />The existing Special Use Permit, issued June 11, 1975, and there- <br />after amended, covers all lands within the Marr Mine Area. No <br />number has been assigned to this permit. <br />On September 18, 1980, Kerr Coal submitted an "Application for Special <br />Use" to the Board of County Commissioners of Jackson County, Walden, <br />Colorado, wherein Kerr Coal requested a Special Use Permit to conduct <br />surface coal mining within the proposed permit boundary:, On October <br />20, 1980, after notice published in the Jackson County Star, a <br />hearing on the Application for Special Use was held in Walden, <br />Colorado. No opposition to the application was presented at that time <br />and none has been expressed to date. Based upon the hearing, Kerr <br />Coal expects that the Application for Special Use will be granted <br />within the next several weeks. <br />Temporarv Use Permits <br />Issued by: United States of America <br />Bureau of Land Management <br />Colorado State Office <br />1600 Broadway, Room 700 <br />Denver, Colorado 80202 <br />Kerr Coal received Temporary Use Permit No. CO-010-TU-78-17 on <br />September 11, 1979. The Temporary Use Permit grants Kerr Coal the <br />right to use 17.35 acres located in a portion of the E~W~NIJ~ of <br />Section 2, Township 8 North, Range 78 West of the 6th P.M. for the <br />purpose of siting the upper portion of the west highwall of the <br />• present pit in the Marr Mine Area. <br />778-29 b <br />
