STOVER 8 RSSOCIRTES TO 101089919702475104 P.02
•
Angie Pit Adequacy Response Letter Page 2
17 Generally, material becomes compacted during the backfilling process, as does the pit
floor. The reclamation plan will need to included provisions for rlpp/ng compacted areas
prior to placement of topsoil. Additionally, with the sandstone layer underneath the
gravel identified as an aquifer, the reclamation plan must ensure that a minimum of two
feet of cover remains over the sandstone for final reclamation.
The operator cornmiu to ripping any compacted areas of the pit and, if the sandstone
layer is exposed, the operator commits to placing 2 feet of cover material over the
sandstone before final reclamation. If the sandstone layer is not exposed, due to the
presence of groundwater, the operator will leave a minimtmm of 2 feet of material over the
ground water horizon and it will remain in placo at final reclamation.
78 Does the maximum hlghwall length figures, provided jar each phase, include the "wing"
areas adjacent to the advancing face, that have not yet been backfilled? If not, please
indicate how far behind the advancing face the hlghwall backf:lling process will rake
place.
The operator conunits to keeping the slope reduction of the side slopes to within 300 feet
of the advancing face. If the project does not provide sufficient material to maintain this
slope reduction interval by filling methods, the operator will offset the projection for
vertical pit excavation and construct the side slopes by cut and fill methods, taking care
not to encroach upon the disturbance boundary.
27 It appears that the fences and access roads either partially or wholly owned by Ms. Allen
are within 200 feet of the proposed affected area boundary in several places. Please
ensure these structures are adequately addressed as required 6y Rule 6.4.19.
A damage waiver for these structures has been verbally agreed to, and is currently being
circulated for notarized signatures. This document will be forwarded to the Division by
June 30, 2000.
The Farmers Di[ch damage waiver agreement, supplied with the preliminary adequacy
review response package, does not hove a notarized signature from the Farmers Water
Development Company....
Tltis document will be forwazded to the Division by Juae 30, 2000.
