• -- s
ADDITIONS AIJD DELE III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII "9 IIItE APPLICATION
1. A. The correct application fee is $185.00. The additional $11.25
is being forwarded.
2. A. The principal meridian, N.M.P.M., should follow township and
range in all legal descriptions.
3. A. A revised map, Exhibit C-2, is included.
B. There are no accurate vegetation maps for the area which supply
the detail you request. Vegetation immediately surrounding the
small amount of affected land, which totals not much more than
ten acres, has been estimated using air photos. Any further
extrapolation of this information would be very inaccurate and
I can see no use for it in reclamation.
4. A. Please treat the subject of water rights in the same manner as
for the C-JD-6 14ine application.
B. (.lining operations, initiated prior to July 1976, will terminate
within fifteen to twenty years of this date.
C. Allowances have been made for a "buffer" zone.
5. Roads made by Cotter Corporation will be scarified and planted
with the seed mixture specified in 5-E. Compacted areas around
the office-shop building, portal, waste dump, etc., will be
scarified, spread with fine waste material, and seeded with the
same mixture following any grading of the waste dump. Venthole
fans will be dismantled and removed, the hole will be plugged by
blasting, the concrete pad will be removed, and the area will be
graded and reseeded with the mixture specified in 5-E.
A. Several key points in the Department of Energy (formerly the
Energy Research and Development Administration, or E.R.D.A.)
lease have an effect on the reclamation plan. They are as
f of l o~vs
1) Because of the possibility that waste dumps may contain
what could be in the future a marketable grade of ore, the
major portion of the dump cannot be removed from the lease
block. This stipulation also puts somewhat of a limit on
the extent of grading that can be done, that is, the dump
cannot be spread over a large area so as to Hake the material
irretrievable in the future.
