~ ESTIHATED RESERVE CALCULATIONS BY 40-ACRE TRACTS (SEE FIG. 1 AND CItART 2)-- '
~ Tract 1 (north tract)--Coal bed 1 is inferred to contain 40 acres of "measured"
~~~ coal 5.8 feet thick totaling 417,600 tons.
0
Coal bed 2 is inferred to contain 32 acres of "measured" coal 5 feet thick
y, totaling 288,000 tons; and 8 acres of "indicated" coal 5 feet thick totaling
'~ 72,000 tons.
y Total estimated coal reserves in beds 1 and 2 ~ 777,600 tons of "demonstrated"
~ coal underlying tract 1 of lease application area C-29125.
Tract 2 (middle tract)--Coal bed 1 is inferred to contain 23 scree of "measured"
~~
,J coal 5.8 feet thick totaling 240,120 tons; and 17 acres of "indicated" coal 5.8
~ !~ feet thick total 177,480 tone, for a total of 417,600 tons of "demonstrated" coal
reserves in coal bed 1.
~ ~ Coal bed 2 is inferred to contain 1 acre of "measured" coal S feet thick totaling
9,000 tone; and 39 acres of "indicated" coal S fee[ thick totaling 351,000 tons.
Total estimated coal reserves in beds 1 and 2 underlying Tract 2 ~ 777,600 tone
of "demonstrated" coal.
Tract 3. (south tract)--Coal bed 1 is inferred to contain 40 acres of "indicated"
coal S.e feet thick totaling 417,600 tone.
Coal bed 2 is inferred to contain 40 acres of "indicated" coal 5 feet thick
totaling 360,000 tons.
Total estimated coal reserves in Tract 3 ~ 777,600 tons of "demonstrated" coal.
• CONCLUSIONS--Tvo minable coal beds totaling about 10.8 feet thick, are inferred
to underlie [he lease application area. Total demonstrated ieserves are calcu-
lated to be 2,332,800 tone of "measured" or "indicated" coal: Recoverable coal
is estimated at 1,166,400 tons. ~So~~
REFERENCES--
Averitt (1969), Coking coal deposits of Che United States: U.S. Geological
Survey Hull. 1222-C.
Bass (1969), Clasaifieation of coal lands in T. 35 N., R. 11 N., NMPH: Colorado
Coal Land Minutes No. 249, U.S. Geological Survey, Conservation Division,
Adm.
