EXH1BiT D RECLAMATION PLAN
1. Purpose: To stabilize soil, reduce damage from sediment and runoff to downstream
areas ,and improve wildlife habitat and visual resources. Applicable areas ate surface-
mined areas where vegetation is difficult to establish by usual; planting methods.
2. In preparing the site for reclamation ,the operator will use dump trucks and front
end loader to distribute overburden or top soil for planting. Whole area will consist
of approximately 2 acres in size. The reclamation process will proceed when the
mining of each 2 acre section /phase has been completed.
3. The proposed land use for this area is agriculture and post mining land use will be
"Rangeland" in Agriculture Zoned District.
4. Reclamation Plan Implementation:
A. Overburden will be replaced at extraction areas upon termination of
excavation. Estimated depth of replacement will be under 12"since
there is a very shallow level of top soil.
B. Land slopes should not exceed 50% (2:1) and should be flatter where
feasible and practicable.
C. Revegetation Measures:
Top soiIina
In the event that the soils have insufficient depth or have physical
chazacteristics unsuitable for development of vegetative cover,
topsoil or material having the capability of supporting the planned
vegetative planting shall be brought in and spread over the deficient
areas. The materials must be applied uniformly in sufficient depth
to support the type and quality of vegetative cover planned for
the site.
I1. Seedbed Prenarat3on
The seedbed shall be well settled and firm, but friable enough that
seed can be placed at the seeding depth specified. The seedbed
shall be reasonably free of weeds. Competitive stands of weeds
that aze present before seeding must be controlled by shallow
tillage or by application of herbicides labeled for this purpose.
Soils that have been over-compacted by traffic or equipment,
especially when wet, should be tilled to break up rooting restrictive
layers, and then harrowed, rolled or packed to prepare the requioed
firmed seedbed.
