Heather L. Justus, resume
page 2
• records, researching and adding USGS data, and supplementing the data with site-
specific information. GIS products included: an aquifer thickness map, a saturated
thickness map, reported well yield maps, and water quality graphs.
• GIS project that involved estimating the ground water resources available in each county
of the Denver Basin. The task included importing the State Engineer's Denver Basin
saturated thickness maps, converting the Senate Bill 5 Basic program into Averiue
language to use in ArcView, and calculated the amount of water available in storage.
The product included a map of the ground water resources of the Denver Basin.
• GIS and MODFLOW project for a large ground water model in Arizona. Involves the
use of aquifer parameter digital maps and databases to interpret hydrologic characteristics
in the basin; development and interpretation of GIS digital maps from USGS, DEQ, and
EPA databases, conversion of GIS data into MODFLOW input files and importing
MODFLOW output files into. GIS; and the development of databases and GIS digital
maps from reported data.
• GIS surface and ground water resource evaluation for the Bear River Basin, Wyoming.
Involves data collection and interpretation. GIS products including: an aquifer
characteristic map, reported well yields map, water quality maps, conversion of the
USGS Ground Water Site Inventory database into a geographic data set and map,
development of Wyoming State Engineer's Water Rights Records into a Point of
Diversion geographic database and conversion of USGS Water. Quality data into a
geographic data set and map. Other duties included: general GIS support, database
management, and technical report writing.
• Ground water monitoring of mountain wells for the purpose of determining the potential
impact to nearby municipal wells.
• Design, construction observation, and testing of several shallow alluvial, mountain
bedrock wells, and Denver Basin Aquifer wells.
• Ground water/surface water relationships using Glover programs and computer modeling
to estimate surface water depletions.
Alamosa National Wildlife Refuge, Alamosa Colorado
1994-1995 Field Technician
Duties included measuring water levels, stream gaging, and report writing.
PRESENTATIONS
October 1998. Poster presentation for the MODFLOW `98 Conference, Golden, Colorado,
October 1998 and the South Platte Forum, Longmont, Colorado, October 1998 titled
"Determining Stream Depletions in Colorado Using MODFLOW" with Dennis
McGrane.
October 1997.
