-94-
MR. DANIEL SON: There's one other question I'd have. On page 10, there's
a discussion of 10 -- at the bottom of page 10 there's a discussion of 10
rinses neutralizing the remaining cyanide. If the .2 parts per million is not
reached after 10 rinses, what then is the Company's commitment?
MS. BALDRIGE: To continue reaching until the reach that .2 standard.
MR. DANIELSON: Okay, so the estimate is it'll take 10 rinses, but if it
really takes 15, you'll do 15?
MS. BALDRIGE: That's correct. The detoxification standard is -- is --
will be applied.
MR. DANIEL SON: I guess the only other thing I'd say is that right above
Point 6 on page 9, the last sentence there about replacing the liner material
• if damaged and so forth...I'd assume that if the liner material its damaged and
the ComparlY doesn't replace it, that's a violation of the permit terms and
would subject the Company to civil penalties or other enforcement actions.
MR. MASSEY: Yeah. I don't think there's a question about our commitment
to repair -- to replace or repair damaged liners. No question whatsoever.
MR. DANIEL SON: Yeah. I mean, I know we've imposed civil penalties on
other companies for failing to keep their liners maintained, and I think that
the same would apply here.
MR. MASSEY: I'd like to take a minute and respond to one last -- am I
over my 20 minutes or?
MR. JOUFLAS: No, you're not.
MR. BARRY: I want to hear part A.
