POND 5/6
Pond 5/6 is loafed northeast of the reclaimed Pi[ 5 and adjacent to the Pit 5 main access road. As part
of final reclamation Pond 5/6 was converted into a stock pond. The following changes were made to
Pond 5:
• The principal spillway riser and culvert were removed and replaced with
riprap channel emergency spillway.
• Inlets to the pond were riprapped
• Sideslopes on the embankment were reduced.
• The slope on the south end of the pond was reduced for livestock access.
All changes to [he pond were made in accordance with [he reclamation design. As-built of the pond
were completed and submit[ed [o the Division.
The southeast sideslope contains a spring which has caused a minor surfidal slump approximately 100
feet wide. No recent slump movement was observed.
After reclamation construction, the water level in the pond was rising due to inflow from the springs
adjacent to [he pond.
