In the event it b=_comes necessary to drain rainwater from a <br />concr=_te or st==_'_ secondary containment facility, the following <br />procedure will be followed: <br />A. The rainwater will be inspected to insure compliance with <br />applicable water quality standards and will not cause a <br />harmful discharge into a stream. <br />B. A ca`=_ valve, provided for drainage, will be opened and <br />resealed by supervisory personnel and the event will be <br />noted and filed on site. <br />7. All deli ••rery of of 1 to the storage tanks is by motor tank <br />vehicle. Standard operating procedures are designed to prevent <br />overfilling tanks. These include: <br />A. Gauging the tank prior to unloading incoming product to <br />insur=_ suffic'_ent tank capacity to accept delivery. <br />• B. Motor tank vehicle drivers stand by unloading vehicles to <br />shut down the unloading operation in case of malfunction <br />or ov=_rfill. <br />S. All tanks, pining, valves, impoundments, enclosures, and/or <br />dikes will be inspected by supervisory personnel at the mine site <br />monthly and routinely by operating personnel. If necessary, <br />corrective action will be promptly undertaken. A "Facilities <br />Inspection Form" will be used fcr all quarterly inspections. A <br />copy of each report will be filed with the SPCC Plan and maintained <br />at the mine facility for a period of three years. <br />9. The following training procedures will be provided: <br />A. The S?CC Plan will be reviewed with operating personael_at <br />the mine site. <br />B. New employees in the area will be instructed in spill <br />prevention as part of their training. <br />10. The appropriate surface superintendent/manager will be <br />accountable for oil spill prevention at this facility. <br />• 11. The original copy of this plan will be kept in the <br />Environmental Office located at the Golden Eagle Mine. A copy of <br />the plan will be posted in the prep plant office. <br />• <br />3 <br />
