• ! ~ ~
Mr. James B. McArdle Page 3 September 9, 1983
H.3. & H.4. - Because Mr. Hall's construction company will be
doing the reclamation work, the costs outlined in Exhibit
"L" are based on operator salary and real equipment use
costs. Rough slope grading will be accomplished with
the mining, with only "touch-up" work required with
reclamation. The $800 per acre for grading is based on
these assumptions. If broadcast seeding by hand, with
no straw mulch is unacceptable, hydroseeding is a possible
alternative. This would be expected to cost $1,200 per
acre, for a total of $60,000 for the project, and would
raise the reclamation cost to $64,000.
I.1. - This project has received a conditional use approval for
the gravel mine. As stated in A. 2. above, a rezoning
for residential purposes has not been applied for, nor
will it be until the mining is substantially complete.
J.1. - The listed parties are land owners within 300 feet of
the site. An amended list showing only adjacent owners
is enclosed.
K.1. - Please see enclosed copy of the Proof of Publication.
We neglected to mail copies of the Public Notice to the
adjacent land owners. This will be accomplished
immediately. We have requested a one month continuance
by separate letter.
I hope this clarifies the questions and comments of your August
30, 1983 letter. Please call or write directly to me if there is any
further information I can give you. We would like to have everything
as "clean" as possible before the Reclamation Board hearing.
Sincerely,
q~~ ~/ '
I ~1
Katy F. McIntyre
KFM/lt
encl.
