EXH1`BIT D - Reclamation Plan

]. Little or no overburden is involved beyond the topsoil
r,iaterial. Ne doubt a small quantity of fines will be back-
filled along the base of the slopes or on tl~e mine floor prior to
redistribution of the topsoil material.
2. Sid-= slopes will be graded to 2:1 or flatter in the course
of minii.~g. hlany of the surrounding pasture land slopes are
much steeper and with good grazing practices, do well. In
practice much of the slopes will be much flatter than 2:1 as
permitted in Rw.e 6.
3. In recognition of the general shortage of topsoil material,
especially on the west one-half of the site, we anticipate that
a topsoil layer of 4 to 6 inches will be the maximium available.
Experie:zce in the area has shown that topsoil material may be
encount=red in deep pockets of 3 feet or more, and this source
is expected to add to the quantity of available topsoil. IVever-
the-less, we have had reasonably good success establishing grass
on the thin layer of topsoil material typical of the area.
4. It is intended to plant the grass seed late in the fall of
any given year, but certainly there is equally good success in
planting very late in the winter (by March 1) should that be
the time the seedbed is finally ready and climatic conditions
suitabl°.
5. A grass seed mixture as described below will be planted.
Species % of Mix ~kPLS/acre Fertilizer
Blue grama 25 0.75 Nitrogen and Phosphate
Side Oats grama 25 2.25 will be applied at rates
Western Wheatgr. 25 4.00 determined by a soil
Sand Dropseed 25 0.13 test just prior to seeding.
6. Seeding will be done with a grass drill.
7. Clean straw applied at the rate of 2,000 lbs. per acre will
be crimped and anchored at least 4 inches deep by a weighted
disc plow.
8. N.A. (re: ponds, streams etc.)
9. N.A. (re: tailings, waste dumps, etc.)
10. The operator will agree to a Surity of $5,000.
_i{_
