<br />EXHIBIT E -RECLAMATION PLAN <br />The post-mining land use will be ponds, native vegetation and wildlife habitat. The <br />approximate post-mining land form is shown Ezhibit F. The reclamation plan is <br />presented below. <br />Reclamation Process <br />Reclamation will take place concurrently with mining and no more than five (5) to <br />ten (10) acres will be disturbed at any one time before reclamation commences. <br />Vegetation will be removed, and then available topsoil will be stripped and <br />stockpiled for later use in reclamation. Unusable overburden material (i.e. silt and <br />clay) will then be excavated and stockpiled. Overburden will subsequently be used <br />for reclamation backfill and subsoil material. Areas that will be inundated with <br />groundwater will not be replanted. Slopes and disturbed upland areas will be <br />revegetated. <br />Topsoil Preservation <br />Soils on the site vary from sandy loam to clay loam to silty clay with surface layers <br />varying from seven (7) to 12 inches thick. The surface layer of productive loamy <br />soils will be salvaged during the initial phases of mining and will be stockpiled for <br />later use. The location of topsoil stockpiles will be within the permit area and in <br />areas close to final placement. As mined areas become ready for topsoil <br />replacement, topsoil may be hauled directly from the area to be mined to the area <br />to be reclaimed, rather than stockpiled. <br />Soil material that is stockpiled will be placed on a stable surface within the permit <br />area and will be clearly marked. The topsoil will be protected from disturbance <br />associated with the mining operation, and from wind and water erosion, compaction <br />and other disturbances that would reduce its capability to support vegetation. The <br />stockpiles will be seeded with a temporary cover when stockpiles will remain in <br />place for more than one (1) growing year season. <br />Soil materials will be subjected to physical and chemical soil analyses to determine <br />possible means of enhancing plant growth. Soil analyses may include pH, texture, <br />specific conductivity sodium adsorption ratio, nitrate nitrogen, plant available, <br />phosphorous and potassium. It is expected that the soils tests results will indicate <br />little enhancement is necessary. <br />
