• The haul road from State Highway 139 to the gob pile will be maintained in <br />accordance with Rule 4.03.1(6). The road surface will be periodically watered and <br />maintained with a motor grader. Gravel will be added to the road surface as necessary. <br />Ditches along the roadway will be periodically cleaned with a motor grader and the road <br />shoulders will be smoothed. If the haul road is damaged by a catastrophic event such <br />as a flood or earthquake, it will be repaired as soon as practicable after the damage has <br />occurred. <br />Reclamation <br />See Section 3.3.1, Backfill and Grading -Lower Road. <br />2.2.3 Coal Processing and Work Area <br />Initial site construction was limited to the excavation of a small bench, 2.69 <br />• acres, necessary to support the exploration operation. The bench site was selected <br />and approved by virtue of a joint on site inspection by the United States Geological <br />Survey, Bureau of Land Management and representatives of the Operator. This bench <br />is shown in Figure 2.2-4. <br />2.2.4 Storage and Stockpile Sites <br />Topsoil stockpiles are shown on Figure 2.2-1, with management discussed in <br />Section 2.4.3. <br />2.2.5 Waste Rock Disposal Site <br />A coal mine waste disposal site is planned for waste material generated at the <br />McClane Canyon Mine. The facility will be located, as shown on Figure 2.2-6, within the <br />Munger Canyon permit area, along the toe of the natural slope and adjacent to the road <br />• Permit Renewal 2-10 09/03 <br />
