The areas <br />generally aze long and narrow in shape. Included with this soil in mapping are small areas of <br />Dominson gravelly sandy loam, 1 to 9 percent slopes. Also included are a few small areas of San <br />Isabel soils that have a surface layer of cobbly or stony sandy loamy sand. <br />Surface runoff is slow, and the hazard of erosion is slight. Most of the acreage of this soil is in <br />native grass and is used for gazing of livestock and winter feed for wildlife. A small acreage is <br />used for urban expansion. <br />• Adjacent Structures and surrounding use <br />The applicant is the owner of the land on the east side of this proposed operation. There aze no <br />permanent man-made structures within 200 feet of this proposed operation. The closest structures <br />are the applicant's outbuildings and dwelling, which lie approximately 200+ feet and 400+ feet, <br />respectively, east of the north end of this proposed operation. <br />The land to the west of this proposed operation is the site of the Buena Vista Sanitation District <br />wastewater treatment plant. This recently operational plant is on ground leased from the Colorado <br />Department of Corrections, Buena Vista Correctional Facility. The treatment plant buildings and <br />structures lie approximately 1000 feet west of this proposed operation. <br />The access roadway for the wastewater treatment plant is directly adjacent to this proposed <br />operation on the south side. This property is also leased from Colorado Department of <br />Corrections by Buena Vista Sanitation District. Please note that this access road to the <br />wastewater treatment plant is not used in any way by this proposed operation. <br />The land use south of this access road is historically an irrigated hay meadow. <br />Land to the north is privately owned and is historically rangeland. This property is not irrigated <br />and is not used for crops or livestock. <br />• Water Resources <br />This proposed operation will not use any water, disturb any groundwater or interrupt any surface <br />water. Bodies of water in the vicinity are as follows: <br />1) The Helena or Reformatory Ditch flows southeasterly approximately 300 feet north of this <br />proposed operation. It continues southerly along the east side of the land owned by this applicant, <br />directly adjacent to the west side of Chaffee County Road No. 301, 600 feet to 1000 feet east of <br />this proposed operation. <br />2) The Arkansas River flows southerly approximately % mile west of this proposed operation. <br />
