•
xevised 1/28/80
Section 765.19(c) Continued
Soils mapping unit descriptions and soil profile descriptions for the
Gapo clay loam Series found in this area aze contained on pages 14 and 7
of Exhibits 18 and 19 respectively. The 28 backhce pits shoran on Eclanan
Park Stream Channel Cross Sections (Map 51) were all used to correlate
the typical SCS soil profile description with profiles encountered on
the study site. Soil 'depths in the 28 backhce pits aze presented in
Exhibit 8, Drill Hole Logs. Rooting depth measurements were taken for
each soil pit and transferred to the cross sections on Map 51 as well as
the depth of the water table for each site.
Chenical and physical analyses of the Gapo clay loam series aze presented
in Table 71. water holding capacity of this soil was classified as good
with an average saturation percentage of 33.8 percent. TOCture of the
material was determined to be loam. Organic matter wntent was found to
range fran 6.9 to 10.3 percent. Calcium carbonate content of the Gapo
clay loam series was found to be belay less than 15 percent (Tables 79
and 80).
The dzy land capability of the Gapo clay loam series is reported by the
SCS to be 2,000 pounds per acre for unfavorable precipitation years and
4,000 pounds per acre for favorable precipitation yeazs (Table 42).
Irrigated capabilities for this site aze not reported by the SCS.
785-9(u)
