Revised 1/2a/so
Section 785.19(c) Continued
sedimentation ponds will be installed to control the water quality of
discharge from the No. 2 mine area, and the quality and quantity of
alluvial and stream water will be rtnnitored as described in the text of
Section 780.21(b).
The second subject area, the upper reaches of Foidel creek, is protected
from disturbance by drainage divides which enclose the watershed, as
shown on the Eckman Park Hydrology (Map 14). The preamble under Section
• 785.19(B) states, "The applicant is not expected to pursue effects and
interactions past hydrologic barriers or beyond points of statistical
insignificance. See 44 Fed. Rec. 15089 (March 13, 1979). Thus, no
detailed investigations were conducted in the uppermost reaches of
Foidel Creek.
The third subject area, the floodplain of Middle Creek, receives runoff
from the C-16284 lease tract at Mine No. 1. The mine area upslope from
the subject area is in the process of reclamation in 1980. In addition,
sedimentation pond H, shown on the Energy Mines 1 and 2 Hydrology
(Map 13), is designed, constructed and will be maintained to prevent any
material damage to alluvial valley floors >n the Middle Creek watershed.
Sampling of surface water inflow and outflow through the subject area
• will be conducted at the sites shown on the Twentymile Park Hydrology
785-9(r)
