Revised 1/11/80
• Section 785.19(c) Continued
No. 2 are scheduled to end early in 1980 thereby largely obviating
the alluvial valley floor concerns in this area. A system of
sedimentation ponds will be installed to control the water quality
of discharge from the No. 2 mine area, and the quality and quantity
of alluvial and stream water will be monitored as described in the
text of Section 780.21(b).
The secrond subject area, the upper reaches of Foidel Creek, is
protected fran disturbance by drainage divides which enclose the
watershed, as shoran on the Eclanan Pazk Hydrology (Map 14) . The
third subject area, near the dragline erection site at Mine No. 1,
• was field checked and found to be an old flood plain thirt y feet in
elevation higher than the incised stream channel of Foidel Creek,
and at least thirty feet above the water table below the streamlied
of Foidel creek. Rased on these criteria, the first three subject
areas were not investigated further in detail for alluvial valley
floor determination.
The fourth subject area in the eastern half of Section 7, Township
4 North, Fange 86 West, was field checked and found to meet the
geomorphic criteria described in the OSM Guideline. This area is
mapped in detail on the Eckman Park Stream channel Cross Sections
(Map 51). The drainage in the area is through an ephaneral tribu-
• tary to Foidel Creek. This unnamed tributary is adjacent to and
785-9(d)
