~ ~
EXHIBIT "D"
t9ining Plan
1. The County of Delta utilizes gravel on an "as needed"
Y~asis. Therefore, a strict timetable is difficult to establish.
However, as indicated on Exhibit "C" the County proposed to
nine to the outside perimeter thereof, within the next
;'.-5 years. The method of mining basically utilizes a front-
c~nd loader to pull the gravel from the pit sides. As the
:;ide of the pit becomes more vertical, sloughing occurs or
..s caused to occur. This sloughed material is hauled a short
gray to the crusher and then taken by truck to the areas within
i.he County needing gravel.
2. There is no water diversion or impoundment contemplated.
3. The size of the area being worked at one time varies
considerably because of the method of mining. Basically, the
entire inside perimeter of the pit is subject to sloughing
rind, therefore, to mining.
9. Major Disturbance -- The area of major disturbance
_ncludes the pit area and would equal approximately 5 acres.
Dioderate Disturbance -- This includes roads and
:storage areas and would be approximately 4 acres.
Minor or no disturbance -- This includes the area to
Ise mined and the area which has been mined and now allowed
+.o naturally revegetate. This would be approximately 7.85 acres.
5. The ore body is gravel and rock (which is crushed).
`..'he depth is unknown, however, the rock appears to be throughout
•:he excavated area.
