Boyd, Reclamation Specialist <br />RE: File No. M-89-065; Timnath Pit, Adequacy Items <br />The following items must be addressed by the applicant in order to satisfy the <br />applicable requirements of C.R.S. 34-32-101 et se and the Mineral Rules and <br />Regulations of the Mined Land Reclamation Board: <br />Mining Plan (Exhibit D) <br />1) On page D-1, the application states that mining is expected to begin in 6k ?~" <br />198E. Please submit a revised estimate of the commencement date. <br />2) Pleelse provide additional details regarding your proposed dewatering <br />oper•atiorts. What are the dimensions of the proposed dewatering trenches? <br />Whai: pumping rate do you anticipate will be necessary to dewater the <br />site:? Will pumping be continuous or intermittent? How far away will the <br />cone: of depression be observed? Are there any wells within the cone of <br />depression? What is the potential impact to water levels-in such wells as <br />related to their pumps? <br />Reclamation Plan (Exhibit E) <br />x!11 <br />1) We encourage you to consider the possibility of creating two smaller ponds o~e~'~ <br />rather than one large pond. This would provide enhanced wildlife benefits <br />as Nell as providing a more stable hydraulic/hydrologic configuration. <br />Please discuss. <br />Water Information (Exhibit G) <br />1) The mining plan calls for relocation of two drainage ditches. What are <br />the historic flows in these structures? Please provide additional ~rl~«" <br />information related to the design of the relocation structures and <br />supporting computations. <br />2) Floodway and Flood Fringe areas are delineated on the map provided. What <br />is the recurrence interval of the event which is the basis for designation ~.~~2! <br />of these areas?
