1/~s <br />M2-CE Batterson-Gladel complex, 3 to 25 percent slopes. <br />This mapping unit is a complex consisting of about 35 percent <br />Batterson stony sandy loam, about 30 percent Gladel stony fine sandy <br />loam and about 30 percent rock outcrop. The unit occurs along the <br />breaks of 'many of the canyons and draws throughout the area. <br />Batterson soil is a stony sandy loam or loamy sand that over- <br />lies sandstone bedrock at a depth of 10 to 20 inches. <br />Gladel soil is a fine sandy loam that overlies sandstone bedrock <br />at a depth of 10 to 20 inches. It has about 20 to 30 percent sand- <br />stone rocks. <br />Rock outcrop consists of outcrops of sandstone along the edges <br />of canyons. There are many large boulders, vertical cliffs and <br />escarpments. <br />Inclusions in t}~is complex are small areas of R0, V0, and Wo. <br />Surface runoff is rapid or moderately rapid. Erosion hazard <br />is slight. Wateriiolding capacity is very low. <br />Vegetation consists of pinon-juniper, sagebrush, sand drop seed <br />and Indian ricegrass.
