Box 1389
Canon Cify, Colorado B17i2
(303 775•BB94
Karen:
Colorado Quarries, Inc. had a Mined Land Reclamation Permit
number 77-198-Lily Mine. Talking to Mark Loye earlier, I under-
stand this was invalidated in December of 1986. Parts of the
material such as the Soil Conservation and Division of wildlife
reports are included as they stated there should be no changes.
We are still investigating this deposit not only as a de-
corative stone quarry but also as the Calcium Carbonate potentials.
Annual tonnage cannot be estimated until these are complete.
This quarry is located above 11,000 ft. and has no structures
or other operations well over a mile away. We have lease on claims
of close to 1,000 acres with this pit being located near the north-
ern center.
Roads are essentially all located on mine claims.
I have also been informing the United States Forest Service
in Salida (Barney Lyons), who at this time has had no objection to
this operation.
My reason for requesting the long term permit, being this is
a substantial deposit with many years reserves, with the proper
operation and marketing I feel this could be developed into a
very prosperous business needed in this depressed region.
If I may be of further assistance in this matter to any
extent please contact me.
Sincerely,
• ~ ~
Bi11'
President Colorado Quarries, Inc.
BT/cr
