Long
Division Director
The Division has received your February 10, 1995 response to the
Division's February 9, 1995 follow-up review comments for the above
referenced operation. Only a couple of minor items on the mining
plan maps need to be corrected in order for the application to be
considered adequate for the purposes of issuing an approval
decision. These items are as follows:
1. Map A3 - Remove the scales end office features shown adjacent
to the highway. These items were relocated on map A2 to an
area within the original proposed permit boundary.
2. Map A2 - Add the proposed interceptor ditch along the north
and east perimeter of the permit area. This is something we
discussed on the telephone as being the means by which subflow
from the irrigated fields to the east will be intercepted by
the ditch and transported to the gravel washing operation
supply pond. This ditch would function similar to how the
ditch at the existing Noland Pit functions.
The Division has completed a reclamation cost estimate for the
Cedar Point Pit, a copy of which is attached. The total amount
worked out to S24,703.00. If you agree with this amount, the
application approval will contain a stipulation requiring the
submittal of an acceptable type of financial warranty in the
minimum amount of 524.703.00, along with an executed Performance
Warranty Document.
Please contact me at the Durango Field Office, telephone no. 247-
5062 if you have any questions. All remaining adequacy concerns
must be resolved prior to the decision date of February 21. 1995.
Sincerely,
ii~2~~y'~"/
Tom Gillis
Environmental Protection Specialist
/tdg
a:m108adg3.
