REDUCTION OF PIT SLOPES
Costs for reduction of pit slopes were developed based
on using D-9H dozers equipped with U-blades. Pit
slopes were reduced in those areas not backfilled with
material from the unreclaimed dump area. Slopes were
reduced to 3h:ly slopes and contoured to allow complete
drainage into Hayden Gulch. Volumes of dozed material
and average push distances were developed from cross
sections. Cost Detail for Reducing Pit Slopes is
summarized in the following work sheets.
Cost Breakdown:
Operation Equipment Equipment Cost Operator Cost Total Cost
Reduce Slopes D-9H $25,770 $4,920 $30,690
TOPSOIL DISTRIBUTION
Cost for Topsoil Distribution were developed based on using
TS-24 scrapers. Six haul cycles were developed and pro-
duction rates determined using the Terex "Production and
Cost Estimating of Material Movement with Earthmoving
• Equipment." Cost Detail for topsoil distribution are
summarized in the following calculation sheets.
Cost Breakdown:
Operation Equipment Equipment Cost Operator Cost
Topsoil Scrapers $240,360 $92,855
TOTAL $283,215
REVEGETATION
Revegetation of Disturbed Lands includes the dump area, pit
area, facilities area, and the cleared and grubbed area
adjacent to the mine. The total area disturbed at the
time of this reclamation study (end 1981) is 186.9 acre.
Costs were developed based on fixed bid in October, 1980
for hydromulching and hydroseeding, and with guaranteed
application. A total cost of $600 per acre was used for
revegetation. Total costs is $112,140.
ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS
Administrative Costs are defined as those casts for General
. Expenses and Overhead and includes costs for contracting,
