Control Practice Factor (CP)
The control practice factor (CP) was estimated to be 1.00 for fresh
cultivated land with no conservation treatment for a conservative
approach (Barfield et al., 1981).
Storage Capacity
The storage capacity of Sediment Pond 002 was also analyzed using the
SEDIMOT II computer program. Table 6 is a summary of the designed
storage capacity (see Exhibit 13-13 for pond geometry).
TABLE 6
Design Storage Capacity Summary
Sediment Pand 002
Stage Capacity
Elevation (Feet) (Ac-ft) Description
5696.0 0.0 0.00 Bottom of Pond
5697.0 1.0 0.068 Elevation of Principal
Spillway and 100%
Sediment Storage
5699.44 3.44 0.315 10-year, 24-hour Peak
Stage
5700.03 4.03 0.390 25-year, 24-hour Peak
Stage
5700.10 4.10 0.46 Elevation of Emergency
Spillway
5701.09 5.09 0.55 100-year, 24-hour Peak
Stage
5702.0 6.0 0.71 Top of Embankment
Peabody does not anticipate any pit pumpage or other inflow to the pond
at this time.
SPILLWAY
Sediment Pond 002 provides for a combination of principal-emergency
spillway to safely discharge the runoff from a 25-year, 24-hour storm.
9
