They felt no "extraordinary" species <br />would be found within the mine plan area or adjacent areas. <br />A species inventory for herpetofauna and arthropods was also <br />discussed. It was recommended that the Latilong Studies be consulted ~ <br />for the herpetofauna within the region. Nothing is needed for arthropods. <br />It was recommended that Al Whittaker, Colorado Division of Wildlife, be <br />contacted concerning threatened or endangered species of arthropods. <br />Finally, the occurrence of species should be listed as scarce, <br />common, or abundant. <br />2. Presence or Absence of Endangered Species <br />BLM representatives recommend that copies of the State & Federal <br />• government Threatened and Endangered species list be consulted. Also, <br />a copy of "Essential Habitat for Threatened & Endangered Species in <br />Colorado" by the Colorado Division of Wildlife should be obtained. <br />' -- - <br />-~ - - <br />The species of concern discussed were the Golden Eagle, Bald Eagle, <br />Prairie Falcon and the Greater Sandhil.l Crane. The permit application <br />should contain a discussion of these species and their occurrence within <br />the mine plan area. <br />The BLM recommended a raptor survey be conducted in April or early <br />May to provide additional information on potential and existing rapter <br />nesting sites. <br />The representatives were not concerned with arthropods but recommended <br />that the Fish b Wildlife Service be contacted for possible Threatened b <br />Endangered species within this area.
