-4- <br />• 4. Sage and Sharptail Grouse <br />It is evident that sage and Sharptail grouse are on the mine plan <br />area and adjacent areas. The BLM recommended that the "Ranking Map" <br />should be consulted as to the possible location of strutting grounds <br />within the mine plan area. <br />S. Cottontail Rabbit and [dhite-tailed Jackrabbit <br />Not much concern was shown on these species. The BLM recommends <br />that we note their presence but not attempt to quantify the numbers. <br />6. Mammalian Predators <br />The BLM recommends that these animals be noted but no attempt to <br />• quantify be made. They did recommend that a "track" census be made <br />to illustrate if they are found on the mine plan area. <br />7. Fencing <br />Trapper Mine representatives relayed the information received <br />from Al Sdhittaker 6 Ronel Finley concerning not using fencing on <br />reseeded areas. This may affect game movement. However, it was <br />explained that shrub transplants may be destroyed by rodecit and <br />game animals. The use of repellent was brought up and it was agreed <br />that the SCS should be consulted on this. The BLM agreed with not <br />fencing reseeded areas but recommended that it be in the permit that \ <br />fencing will be utilized if necessary if excessive shrub damage occurs. \ <br />S. Ptitigation <br />• The concept of sagebrush being seeded for browse was discussed. <br />The BLM representatives felt that the sagebrush will "come back" <br />E-10 <br />
