4. 1 am concerned about increased dust and particulates generated by the mining
operation.
5. Most of the property owners in the area, moved here for the relative peace and quiet,
and a quarry operation with heavy blasting, is not compatible with this. This azea has
become a ruraUresidential area in recent years, with numerous houses in the area. I
think a quarry operation is faz more suited to a more remote location.
6. As a native of Colorado Springs, I have always been familiar with the "scar on the
mountain" lefr by previous Castle Concrete mining activities in Colorado Springs,
and I certainly do not want to see that in my area.
I have never been entirely convinced that public input is given much consideration when
these matters aze decided. It seems that as long as local, state and federal regulations are
met, objections by property owners in the area don't count for much. At least by
expressing my opinion, if any of these problems materialize, at least I can say that I gave
my input.
Thank you for your consideration, and I hope not to see a Castle Concrete gravel
mining operation just up the highway from me.
~ ~-
Sid Darden
