Please see
"Comprehensive Inspections." If these inspections reveal excessive rills and gullies,
' stabilization measures will be employed. These measures may be, but not limited to,
reseeding, hydro mulching, straw bales, regrading, etc., of the problem areas.
' The track ballast is, of course, not vegetated. The ballast comprises a width of
approximately 20 feet for the entire track length of 3.3 miles. Sediment generated from
' the ballast would be negligible due to the ballast material (9raveL).
' A number of culverts were placed under the track when it was constructed. These culverts,
for the most part, function as flood control or irrigation water routing and should not be
' considered stormwater outf ails. These are shown on Exhibit "SYMP•3" Facilities Map.
' The upstream drainage areas from the major culverts under the tracks are used mainly for
crop production and the general practice is to place these areas into summer fallow. This
procedure, by nature, creates some sediment. Any sediment generated from the track area
' would not be discernible.
' Emolovee Education
' Employees receive eight hours of annual retaining every year. This class discusses
regulated materials management. Topics discussed are:
' - Cleanliness of storage areas
Spills
' - Management of containers, etc.
' Company inspectors responsible for implementation of this plan will be instructed on an
individual basis pertaining to inspection procedures.
' Comprehensive Inspections/Reports/R ecordkeepina
' Comprehensive inspections of the permit area will be conducted at least twice a year;
4
1
