Water sample collection involved utilizing a snowmobile
to access the reclaimed mine site
On Monday March 23n0 , I was notified by Commercial Testing 8 Engineering they had a double
control failure on the Fathead Minnow species. Therefore, the test for this species would be
considered invalid. After discussing this issue with you, and recognizing it is to late to retest for
the Fathead Minnow species, we agreed to the following:
1. Report on the DMRs the test was invalid.
2. Have CT 8 E report the test was invalid and the double control failure did not indicate the
effluent was toxic.
3. Commit to performing the routine second quarter test no later than May 15'" in order to
assure the effluent is not toxic.
I will attach this letter to the DMRs to assure there is no confusion regarding this matter. Please
call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
J. E. Stover, P.E.
Consulting Engineer
CDOH3
