~XHIB~T E ,~
u Ce.~
RECLAMATION PLAN = '~
Section 1-General Description
The plan for reclamation of this site is to create an unlined reservoir, consisting of two open
water ponds. In addition, a smaller, unlined pond will be created on the west side of the site.
The surrounding areas will be reseeded and planted in a manner intended to help sustain riparian
corridor-type natural habitat for plant and animal species. Grasses, trees and shrubs will be
planted consistent with this intent.
Section 2 -Comparison to Adjacent Land Uses
The proposed reclamation plan is intended to St into and compliment adjacent land uses. On the
north side of the site is an existing gravel extraction operation. The ultimate development for
this property has not been determined, however, the reclamation plan calls for two open water
ponds and about an equal area of undeveloped open space. To the south of the proposed site is
another extraction operation. This site will be reclaimed as an open water pond also. To the
west is a residence surrounded by reclaimed gravel pits that have been restored to open water and
habitat. To the east, seven residences are located on the opposite side of Larimer County Road
19 from the proposed site.
The proposed reclamation plan will provide an amenity to the existing adjacent residences as
well as any potential building development to the north. To the south, the plan will provide
connectivity for wildlife to the Cache La Poudre River corridor.
No conflicts between the final reclamation plan and adjacent land uses are expected.
Section 3 -Comparison with Applicable DMG Requirements
Materials Handlin¢
The reclamation area will be graded as shown in Exhibit F-Reclamation Plan Map. Substantial
grading will be limited to the immediate vicinity of the pit. All subsoils, topsoils and overburden
will be native materials and will be used in the reclamation grading to provide slope material and
growth medium. At no location will the slope be steeper than 3:1.
There are no known toxic materials in the proposed fill material.
Grading will be done with scrapers, dozers, sheepsfoot compactors, and blades as needed. The
final contours will be smoothly transitioned to minimize erosion, and compacted to rninirni~e the
hazard of unstable slopes.
Final grading, planting and seeding will commence in a timely manner to minimize soil erosion.
No swimming azea is planned for the reclaimed reservoir.
