EXHIBIT 8 - Site Description <br />Items 1-3 below must be addres• to the extent necessary to de• strate compliance with <br />'the applicable performance standard requirements of Rule 6. At a minimum, you should <br />include the following information: <br />1. A description of the vegetation and soil characteristics 1n the area of the <br />proposed operation. The local office of the Soil Conservation Service (SCS) may <br />provide you with this information as well as recommendations for Exhibit D - <br />Reclamation Plan. Contact the Regional SCS office at 655 Parfet Rm E2000, <br />Lakewood, Colorado 80215, (303) 236-2886 or the Mined Land Reclamation Division <br />for assistance in locating the office nearest you; <br />2. Identify any permanent man-made structures within 200 feet of the affected <br />area and the owner of each structure. Permanent man-made structures include <br />houses, barns, fences, above or below ground utilities, irrigation ditches, <br />maintained or public roads, bridges, wells, pipelines, water storage impoundments, <br />railroad tracks, cemeteries, and communication antennas, etc. Each structure <br />should be located on Exhibit E - Map. <br />3. .A description of the water resources in.the area of the proposed operation. <br />Identify any streams, springs, lakes, stockwater ponds, ditches, reservoirs, and <br />aquifers which wound receive drainage directly from the affected area. Provide any <br />information availa~le from publications or monitoring data on flow rates, water <br />table elevations and water quality conditions. <br />4. A wildlife statement prepared by the Colorado Division of Wildlif~`fDOW) 15 <br />not required for Limited Impact Operations. However, you may want to contact the <br />local DOW representative to verify that no critical or important wildlife habitats <br />or wildlife species will be impacted by your proposed operation. Contact the DOW <br />office 1n Denver at (303) 297-1192, or the MLRD for assistance in locating the DOW <br />office nearest the proposed mining site. <br /> <br /> <br />
