Mount, <br />I visited the site of the mine mentioned above located just north HWY 61 in section 6, T7N, R~1W, in <br />T o~an County.l'he si[e has previously been mined and currently is being grazed fairly heavily. As a <br />result, the only wildlife habitat concern I have pertaining to this site is the potential loss of two or three <br />mature cottonwood trees that are growing in the bottom of the old pit. These trees are providing habitat <br />to many bird species in the area as the presence of two nests indicate. Neither nest was occupied today so <br />I am not sure what specific species of bird actually uses the trees, but the larger nest in the tallest tree <br />very likely is a raptor nest.
