CO-0033189, ALAMOSA COUNTY. <br />PROJECT COMPLE'T'E: now operating at DIA <br />INTENDED CIVIL PENALTIES: <br />Purpose of Public Notice: This police states the intent of the WQCD to petition for the imposition of a <br />negotiated civil pepalry of 53,560 cash against Chevron U.S.A. Production Company. This penalty is <br />sought pursuant to the Water Quality Control Act, § 25-8fi08; C.R.S., for violation of the Water Quality <br />Control Act as alleged in the Notice of Violation and Cease and Desist Order issued by the WQCD on <br />April 25, 1996. <br />Chevron owns Ute major working interest and operates petroleum and natural gas production wells at the <br />Rangely Field in Rio Blanco County, Colorado. The alleged violation involved a reported spill of brine <br />water from an injection line leak into State waters. <br />Purpose of Public Notice: This notice states the intent of the WQCD to petition for the imposition of a <br />negotiated civil penalty of 540,000 cash against the City and County of Denver. This penalty is sought <br />pursuant to the Water Quality Control Act, § 25-8-608, C.R.S., for violatiop of the CDPS Permit No. CO- <br />0026620 and the Water Quality Control Act as alleged in the Notice of Violation and Cease and Desist <br />Order issued by the WQCD on March 30, 1994. <br />The City and County of Denver owns the property which was operated until February 28, 1995, as <br />Stapleton International Airport, located at 8200 Martin Luther Ring Blvd. in portheast Denver, CO. <br />Denver was authorised to discharge treated wastewater associated with this operation into Sand Creek, <br />subject to specific effluent limitations and other conditions as established by CDPS Permit No. CO- <br />0026620. <br />
