0
• Mining Plan - Page 2 .
MINING (contd )
The excavated material will be ptacked behind the dragline and
allowed to drain. The pit run material will then be fed to a
portable screening plant by front-end loader. This plant will
produce three products and remove the fines which will be returned
to the pit. The screen product sizes will be plus 1 -1 /2 inches,
3/4 x 1-1 /2 inches, and 1 /4 inch x 3/4 inches. The mi us 1 /4 inch
fraction is that which will be returned to the pit in hose
locations as shown on the Reclamation Plan Map F-1 . T e product
will be hauled to Fountain Sand and Gravel Company's p ant
facilities in 15- to 23-ton capacity tandum axel dump ruck.
At times, drained pit run material will be trucked to he plant
direct without being screened . Allowance for this is ncluded in
fines returned to pit calculations.
Mining will begin at the north end of the area noted a Year 1 on
the Mining Plan, Map D-1 , and proceed southward to the haulroad
location. The material in the haulroad at the souther end of
this initial mining will be left in place until the ro d is no
longer needed for operations to the east . This materi 1 will be
• removed during the final phases of the operation.
The balance of the deposit will be mined from the west to east as
shown on the Mining Plan map.
Topsoil will be removed far enough ahead of the advanc ng pit face
to permit the dragline operations , stockpiling of the it run
material, operation of a portable screening plant, and the
attendant product stockpiles. The maximum storage for any of the
stockpiles is anticipated to be 7,500 tons.
The pit and adjacent disturbance areas will be operate as a
closed area with respect to drainage. That is, all waters
traversing the disturbed areas will flow into the pit ith no
discharge into the river.
•
