2.o5.s(s>
(f)(iii) A narrative of the detailed description of the measures to be taken to prevent
subsidence from causing material damage or lessening the value or
reasonably foreseeable use of the surface follows:
(f)(iii)(A)
The anticipated effects of planned subsidence is explained above and is
presented in detail in Volume III, Exhibit 15.
(f)(iii)(B)
The measures to be taken in the mine to reduce the likelihood of subsidence
is explained above. The mine plan will leave support pillars under Pond P-1,
adjacent to Hubbard Creek, under Rubin Dove's rock shelter, under
perennial portions of Dove Gulch and near the outcrop. The long term
stability of the support pillars was evaluated in Volume III Exhibit 15, Section
1.9. The pillars in the bleeder entries along Hubbard Creek have a
calculated factor of safety of 4.3. The pillars in the main entries under Dove
Gulch and Rubin Dove's rock shelter have a calculated factor of safety of
• 1.8. To assure long term stability, a pillar must have a factor of safety of 1.5
or greater. No backstowing or backfilling of voids will be pertormed.
A limited extraction zone was established along the bleeder entries in the
vicinity of Freeman Gulch and the vent shaft in Freeman Gulch to assure
ancient land slides were not reactivated by subsidence.
A detailed subsidence study for Terror Creek Reservoir and dam will be
completed prior to any mining within one mile of the reservoir according to
the schedule outlined above.
Mining in low overburden areas adjacent to the possible fault trace is
explained in section (f)(ii)(B) above.
(f)(iii)(C)
No measures will be taken on the surface to prevent material damage or
lessening of the value or foreseeable use of the surface.
(f)(iv) A detailed description of the measures to be taken to mitigate the effects of
any material damage or diminution of value or foreseeable use of lands
. which may occur.
PR-04 2.05 - 110 - 02!01
