• Section 822. 14 (d) Continued.
1) Township 9N, Range 79W, Section 29, SE corner of SE corner.
2) Township 8N, Range 77W, Section 5, NW corner of NW corner,
and Section 6, NE corner of NE corner.
3) Township 9N, Range 78W, Section 13, SE corner of NW corner.
4) Township 9N, Range 78W, Section 10, SE corner of NE corner,
and Section 11, SW corner of NW corner.
5) Township 9N, Range 78W, Section 36, SE corner of NE corner.
These locations are: l) adjacent to the Kerr Tipple Area; and 2)
upstream of the Mine Plan Area on the Canadian River, 3) adjacent
to the Mine Plan Area on the Canadian River, 4) downstream from the
Mine Plan Area on the Canadian River, and 5) downstream from the
Mine Plan Area on Bolton Draw.
The monitoring sites will consist of one shallow well drilled and
• cased through the alluvium for ground water level measurement and
sampling; a stream sampling facility on the main stream course; and
staff gages for measurement of stream stage. Pre-installation data
collection will include a vegetative inventory including species
and population counts, a pump test to determine the permeability of
the alluvium, and soil moisture measurements with a neutron probe
access tube. The monitoring facilities will be fenced off to
prevent damage by cattle or machinery.
The schedule of monitoring will be as prescribed in Table 61, Kerr
Mine Area Hydrologic Monitoring Schedule. The facilities will be
monitored monthly during high flow in the spring and quarterly at
other times for the length of the mining and reclamation period.
Hydrologic data from the monitor sites will be correlated to stream-
flow and water quality monitoring performed at the USGS gaging
stations upstream and downstream from the mine plan area.
• Agricultural production data will be obtained with the cooperation
of farms and ranches operating on the alluvial valley floors.
822-7
