The Vegetation Baseline <br />Map (Map 2:04.10-1) should be considered the land use map of the expansion area for purposes <br />of this discussion. <br />The land use within the entire New Horizon 2 Mine expansion study area is related to agriculture, <br />grazing, and related support facilities (see Map 2.04.10-1). Approximately 85 percent of the <br />proposed permit area (Table 2.04.3-2) is in irrigated agriculture or a direct result of irrigation (i.e., the <br />Swale vegetation type). In comparison, approximately 77 percent of the study area shows this <br />relationship.
