Colorado Mine Land Rec~tion Board
page two
Third: Castle Concrete has only posted a $50,000 bond for
reclamation, This is not realistic in view of toda;r's
inflation, and we believe an independent study shou:Ld
be conducted to determine the actual reclamation coats,
and that Castle Concrete so post that amount in a bend.
We therefore request that before the permit is extended these questions stated
above be addressed; a public hearing be held concerning the proposed :volutions;
and these questions not be brushed aside with the simple reassurance i.hat they
will be taken care of in the future, but that concrete guidelines be established
now to ensure our safety and health in the future, In fact, we strongly urge
that definite signs of positive effort toward visual reclamation, now non-existant,
be evident before the renewal of the permit.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter. We will await your response.
~ wcn/~aO(. ~taX~.
E, Richard Wulf CCC
President
Pleasant Valley Association
cc: Colorado Springs City Council
John Taggert, Chief of Police, Colorado Springs
George Fellows, City Manager, Colorado Springs
Bill Comer, State Senator
Joel Hefley, State Representative
