Section 779.12 (b) Continued. <br />• areas of mining in nominated Federal Leases (including recently- <br />issued C-22644 Lease). The BLM Environmental Assessment Report, <br />dated January 18, 1979, states on page 74: <br />"Upon consultation with SHPO (State Historical Preservation <br />Officer) and the National Register, it has been determined <br />that the following site in Routt County has been nominated to, <br />or is determined eligible for, the National Register: Hahn's <br />Peak Schoolhouse. This site would not be affected by the <br />proposed action." <br />The Hahn's Peak Schoolhouse is located near Clark, Colorado over 50 <br />miles north of the Energy Fuels' operations. <br />Also during the summer of 1975, Dr. Calvin Jennings of Colorado <br />State University completed an archaeological reconnaissance survey <br />of the proposed coal lease areas for the Bureau of Land Management. <br />In accordance with their contract, only those portions of each <br />• lease having the greated potential for site locations received the <br />closest scrutiny. <br />The Jennings survey disclosed certain historic sites in the mine <br />plan area, adjacent area and general area. All sites are delineated <br />on Historical and Archaeological Site (PSap 5). The demolished James <br />Rossi Ranch buildings are located on private land in Section 7, <br />Township 4 North, Range 86 West, owned by Energy Fuels; nothing <br />more than the foundations are left at this site. A dry-laid rock <br />foundation, about 15 feet by 25 feet, <br />Township 4 North, Range 86 West, which <br />there is an associated rock wall about <br />tion.
