The BLM Environmental Assessment Report, dated January 18, 1979, states on page 74: "Upon consultation with SHPO (State Historical Preservation Officer) and the National Register, it has been determined that the following site in Routt County has been nominated to, or is determined eligible for, the National Register: Hahn's Peak Schoolhouse. This site would not be affected by the proposed action." The Hahn's Peak Schoolhouse is located near Clark, Colorado over 50 miles north of the Energy Fuels' operations. Also during the summer of 1975, Dr. Calvin Jennings of Colorado State University completed an archaeological reconnaissance survey of the proposed coal lease areas for the Bureau of Land Management. In accordance with their contract, only those portions of each • lease having the greated potential for site locations received the closest scrutiny. The Jennings survey disclosed certain historic sites in the mine plan area, adjacent area and general area. All sites are delineated on Historical and Archaeological Site (PSap 5). The demolished James Rossi Ranch buildings are located on private land in Section 7, Township 4 North, Range 86 West, owned by Energy Fuels; nothing more than the foundations are left at this site.
