Doc Date:1211112001 III III III IIIIIII III <br />sss ( 1 <br />PART 779 - SURFACE MINING PERMIT APPLICATIONS - MINIMUM P,EQUIREMENTS <br />S ~. <br />FOR INFORMATION ON ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES <br />Scope of the Section. <br />This Section of the application provides, in detail, a complete and <br />accurate description of the environmental resources that either <br />have been or may be impacted or affected by the surface mining <br />activities conducted or to be conducted by Energy Fuels. <br />Section 779.11 General requiremento. <br />Each permit application shall include a description of the existing, <br />premining environmental resources within the proposed mine plan area and <br />adjacent areas that may be affected or impacted by the proposed surface <br />mining activities. <br />Energy Fuels has included within this application a description of <br />the existing, premining, environmental resources within the pro- <br />posed mine plan and adjacent areas that may be affected or impacted <br />by the proposed surface mining activities. As stated in the Intro- <br />duction to this application, surface mining has been conducted at <br />the Energy Mine No. 1 since 1962 and at the Energy Mine No. 2 since <br />1972; therefore, a description of the premining environmental <br />resources in areas of previous mining is b2sed upon historical <br />records and recollections of knowledgeable parties and through <br />correlations and comparisons with undisturbed environmental resources. <br />Section 779.12 General environmental resources information. <br />Each application shall describe and identify-- <br />(a) The size, sequence, and timing of the subareas of the mine plan <br />area for which it is anticipated that individual permits for mining will <br />be requested over the estimated total life of the proposed surface <br />• mining activities; and <br />779-1 <br />
