• end of the stockpile. The berm and ditch design calculations are
shown in Attachment F,
Finally, an incised sedimentation pond will be constructed and
maintained to provide storage for the runoff from the disturbed
area resulting from a 10-year, 24-hour precipitation event as
we 11 as for sediment storage. Sediment will be removed as
necessary to maintain adequate flood storage capacity. While it
is anticipated that this will be a non-discharging pond, a modi-
fication to Mt. Gunnison's NPDES Permit will be made to allow for
any infrequent spi}}way discharge of water from the pond into the
North Fork of the Gunnison River. Design calculations are
presented in Attachment F, cross-sections in Attachment G.
Sediment control for that portion of Bear Coal Company's 5-year
permit area not included in this proposed operation will not be
impacted.
•
Reclamation
Reclamation of the disturbed area, including the roads and stock-
pile area, will 6e reclaimed upon elimination of the stockpile
and in accordance with Section 4 of, the Mt. Gunnison MbR Plan.
The area will be restored to its pre-mining land use ofi rangeland
and wildlife habitat. If the stockpiled material is determined
to be~of seed-bed quality, a sufficient quantity of material will
be retained to reclaim the area in accordance with Section 4.4,2
of the Mt. Gunnison MbR Plan. The area will be revegetated using
the Permanent Seed Mix described in Table 4.4,5.A of the Mt.
Gunnison MbR Plan. If the material is not of sufficient quality
to be considered seed-bed quality material suitable material will
be purchased from an outside source to satisfactorily retoosoil
the disturbed area.
•
-4-
