Box 5300 <br />Denver, Colorado 80217 <br />Re: Status of 10 Acre Pezaiit Area Extension Technical Revision <br />Our File No. C-007-80 <br />Deal Mr. Costello: <br />T'~e Division has reviewed and hereby approves a technical revision to ARCO <br />coal Company's approved plan under the Colorado permanent regulatory program <br />:'.at will allow ARCO to increase the existing permit area by 10 acres for <br />use as a temporary lay-donor area during construction. The area approved for <br />extension is that.area shown on Figure 3.1.8.8 on revised page 3-20b of the <br />!'t. Gunnison No.l Mining and Reclamation Plan. The only area approved for <br />topsoil salvage is the oil and gas storage area delineated on Figure 3.1.8.C, <br />.. ch will be'salvaged to a depth of 2 feet and stocY.piled in the area provided <br />nor topsoil storage as shown on Figure 3.1.8.C. Topsoil salavage will not <br />be required on the remainder of the area under the condition that this area <br />is _sed st_-icily in accordance with the specific storage areas and access <br />:a =::'ays delineated on Figure 3.1.8.C. Zn regards to revegetation, the dry <br />.-ra=o:.~ and moist mixed shrub vegetation types delineated on Figure 3.2.8.D <br />.. ch occur within the 10 acre area must be revegetated in accordance witt. the <br />approved revegetation plan for the Mt. Gunnison No. 1 mine.
