MINING AND RECLAMATION PLAN
P1T. GUi1t1ISON N0. 1 MINE
• 5.5.7. Reclamation of Lay-Down Area
October 7, 1981
A vegetation and soils map (Figure 4.S.7.A) was prepared, and indicates
that about 80 percent of the lay-down area permit extension is covered by
the moist mixed shrub plant community, and the remainder by the dry meadow
plant community. The soil cover is the Fughes loam. Soil profile descrip-
tions are shown on Table 4.5.7.A.
Topsoil will be removed to an average depth of two feet on the gas and oil
storage area only and stockpiled in one of the existino topsoil stockpiles.
No other topsoil will be removed. A containment berm will be constructed
around the gas and oil storage area. Brush will be removed by lightly
blading, and hauled to a nearby county landfill. A series of water collec-
tion ditches and sediment pond will be constructed per Figure 3.1.8.L.
Upon termination of lay-down activities, topsoil will be replaced to the
• original depth on the gas and oil storage area only. The remainder of
( the lay-down area will be ripped as necessary to alleviate compaction
due to vehicular use. The lay-down area will be reclaimed as part of
the surface facilities site described in Section 4,5.2.
-2 z
